God made great promises to bless Abraham.
"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
"To your offspring I will give this land."
"Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give you and your offspring forever, I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."
All of the above was and is dependent on God alone keeping His promises, remaining faithful. God's character is on the line and He makes no demands
of Abraham. He is choosing to bless Abraham on account of His faithful response in the past. No future action can undo what God has set forth to do.
We too can put our hope in the God who keeps His promises. Our salvation is not dependent on our behaviour, but on God's perfect Son, Jesus/Yahshuah. Like Abraham all we are required to do is believe and the promises of blessings follow.
