Hebrews 11:17 says: "By faith Abraham when God tested him offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had recieved the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, 'It is through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.' Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death."
Abraham and Isaac are prophetically acting out what would occur around 1500 years later on that same mountain. A loving Father, indeed the Father of all nations would allow His Son, carrying a burden of wood on his back to be an offering.
Isaiah talking of Messiah says: "Yet it was Yahweh's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though Yahweh makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days." Abraham spoke prophetically when he declared "God Himself will provide the lamb."
Give thanks for God's Son, The Lamb Of God, who was offered for our sins, so all who believe can be joined with the Father, resurrected from death into eternity.
