"The God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, the Angel who has delivered me from all harm."
Psalm 23:1-4 reads: Yahweh is my shepherd, I shall not be in want, He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me besides quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Jacob at the end of his life was able to reflect and conclude that God had indeed never left him and had kept him through all his life events. He could declare this as with David after coming out the other side of tests and trials. Tests and trials which God walked through with them, never leaving them, intervening when necessary, making their paths straight, protecting them from those who sought their demise and fulfilling His own promises to them.
Look back on your own life's tests and trials, they are always only for a time, and see how God carried you through. Give thanks and praise as you acknowledge His hand of protection and direction over your life and may Jacob's and David's words also be yours!
